Ansible role: filebeat

Install and configure filebeat

Requirements

• Ansible >= 2.8
• Debian
  • Bookworm
  • Trixie

Role variables

• filebeat_major_version set major version to install- (default: 7)
• filebeat_config - hash with the configuration (see filebeat documentation)

  filebeat.inputs:
    - type: log
      paths:
        - /var/log/messages
        - /var/log/*.log
  output.file:
    path: "/tmp/filebeat"
    filename: filebeat

How to use

- hosts: server
  roles:
    - filebeat

Development

Test with molecule and docker

• install docker
• install python3 and python3-pip
• install molecule and dependencies pip3 install molecule molecule-docker docker ansible-lint pytest-testinfra yamllint
• run molecule test
